Trauma Events and Supporting Students

DESCRIPTION

Trauma experiences can occur once or multiple times in a child’s life. Some children show signs of stress in the first few weeks after a trauma but return to their usual state of physical and emotional health. Others may experience problems that impair their day-to-day functioning for longer periods of time.

This webinar will:

– Discuss events that can cause trauma

– Look at the signs and impact of trauma across age groups

– Discuss how to support the child in your class

Our program facilitator Gail Preston has over 30 years’ experience in special education as a classroom teacher, specialist teacher, principal, academic and educational consultant. Gail has spoken at local, national and international conferences on various topics within the special education and inclusive practice fields.
