DESCRIPTION

Students with ASD can struggle with the day to day demands of the classroom. Each student will have individualised responses to the learning process and environment and therefore it is important for teachers to be well informed to support their inclusive classroom practice.

This workshop will:

– Review the diagnostic indicators of Autism Spectrum Disorder

– Look at the areas of challenge

– Review the inhibitors to learning

– Look at structuring the environment to assist learning and behavioural self management

PRESENTER

Our program facilitator Gail Preston has over 30 years’ experience in special education as a classroom teacher, specialist teacher, principal, academic and educational consultant. Gail has spoken at local, national and international conferences on various topics within the special education and inclusive practice fields.
